The Abington Junior Comets are excited to announce, through a collaboration with the Abington Area Joint Recreation Board and Abington Youth Soccer League, a groundbreaking this fall on a state of the art turf practice facility with lighting at the AAJRB facilities off Winola Road!
Our financial obligation for this project is $ 150,000 dollars which we hope to raise with the help of our community, former and current players, cheerleaders and corporate donations.
We have been without a practice facility to call our own since our inception in 1970.  We have called Abington Heights High School, followed by the Middle School and currently Allied Services home.  At Allied, we have to bear the expense of storage, lighting, bathroom facilities and if it rains we need to rent indoor facilities as the drainage is poor.  During the 2011 rainy season, we had to practice in parking lots and had to divide up our teams and players.
Whether you were an Astro, Packer, Patriot or Junior Comet, you can help to finalize our state of the art practice field for future generations.  Any gift is appreciated and beginning with gifts of $100, donors will be acknowledged with their own engraved brick.  Larger gifts can buy larger sized bricks and even benches.  These bricks will create a walking path/patio area for all the community to enjoy.  The benches will be placed all along the walkway acknowledging donors.
Parents can enjoy the many park amenities while waiting for their children including a playground for younger siblings, walking path around Eston Wilson lake and even a dog park for our four legged friends!
We are a 501(C)3 tax exempt organization so your contributions are tax deductible for both you and your business.
Please click on the link below (brick form) for donation/ordering information

Call 586-7490 after 4:30 pm if the weather is looking questionable. You will hear a message stating if practice or a game is cancelled. Sometimes the weather changes quickly and this is the best way to have information available to everyone. Sometimes football may still practice even if cheerleading is cancelled and vice versa.  Click the Football and Cheerleading tabs for more information.
