Football and Cheerleading Sign ups
REGISTRATION
In order to sign up for football or cheerleading, you must download the following forms and mail to PO Box 355, Clarks Summit, PA 18411. Check should be made payable to Abington Junior Comets. There is no longer an option to participate in the fundraiser. The fee to register is $135 for first child, each additional player/cheerleader from the same family is $60 per child. All THREE forms must be returned for both cheerleading and football; league registration form, junior comet registration form and volunteer sign up form. If you are new to the organization or did not participate last year, you must submit a recent photo and copy of a birth certificate with your sign up forms. Please submit your application ASAP so we can be sure to have adequate equipment and uniforms available for everyone. There will be NO sign ups taken after equipment is handed out. Final date for football sign ups to be received will be July 15, deadling for cheerleading will be July 21. You may sign up in person at equipment handouts.

EQUIPMENT HANDOUTS
ALL fundraiser tickets and money MUST be returned in order to receive equipment!
Football equipment will be distributed at the Field House at AHHS as follows:
A Team--Monday, July 13 from 6-8 pm
B Team--Tuesday, July 14 from 6-8 pm
C team--Wednesday, July 15 from 6-8 pm
You will only be given equipment on your assigned day, even in the case of siblings! Coaches from respective teams will be on hand with their teams to ensure proper sizing. In case of scheduled vacation during this time, contact Kathy Walker at 587-8163.
Cheerleading equipment will be distributed at the Field House at AHHS as follows:
C Team--Monday, July 20 from 6-8 pm
B Team--Tuesday, July 21 from 6-7 pm
A Team--Tuesday, July 21 from 7-8 pm
You will only be given equipment on your assigned day, even in the case of siblings! In case of scheduled vacation during this time you will be fitted for a uniform during the first week of practice. We will also have sizes for the optional warm up suits available at uniform handouts. They will be the same warm ups used last year.
CHEER APPAREL SIZING
Girls will be sized for shoes, body suits, and lollipops during practice on July 27 and 28. If you are unable to attend practice on either of those dates, you must go to Uniforms for All Sports, 520 S Main Street, Old Forge (457-7977) to be fitted for apparel PRIOR to July 30. ALL orders must be placed by July 30 in order to receive items in time for the first game and receive the team discount price. All apparel is remaining the same as last year.
Cheerleading Camp
Saturday, July 25 from 9 am - 3 pm
All Star Cheer Academy, 1258 Mid Valley Drive, Jessup
$25 if paid by July 14, $30 after July 14
Price includes lunch!
All registered cheerleaders will receive an application in the mail for camp. (Click here for form)
AD BOOK
If you have not participated in last years booklet or a booklet in the past, this is your chance to demonstrate your interest in supporting youth football in the Abington area. This is an excellent opportunity for area merchants and businesses to prominently advertise their services in this professionally published booklet which will be distributed at all home football games.
Please keep in mind that this is our major fundraiser, with the proceeds going directly towards the purchase of uniforms and equipment for the players and cheerleaders. We hope that we can count on your support this year!
If you would like to place an ad in the booklet, please send a camera ready copy of your ad (business card, etc. ) along with your check payable to Abington Junior Comets. Please return by July 27, 2009 to PO BOX 355, Clarks Summit, PA 18411. Age Requirements:
C Team - minimum age - 7 years old by May 1(football); Aug 31 (cheerleading) maximum age-10 years old if born on or after May 1(football); Aug 31(cheerleading)
B Team- minimum age - 10 years old if born before May 1(football); Aug 31(cheerleading) maximum age-12 years old if born on or after May 1(football); Aug 31(cheerleading)
A Team -minimum age -12 years old if born before May 1 (football); Aug 31(cheerleading) maximum age-14 years old if born on or after Feb 1(football); Aug 31(cheerleading)
Practice begins on Wednesday, July 22 from 6-8 pm at Abington Heights Middle School.
Practices will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday until the first game.
After the first game practice will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
